Albert Pike's the Book of the Words

Written by Albert Pike and published by him in 1878, The Book of the Words is a unique type of Masonic etymological dictionary covering significant foreign-language words used in Scottish Rite rituals. Although Pike wrote this work from 1870–71, its production was the culmination of fifteen years' work on the rituals of the Supreme Council, 33°, Southern Jurisdiction, which he began soon after his introduction to the Scottish Rite.
