Julius Friedrich Sachse, “Ancient Documents Relating to the A. and A. Scottish Rite in the Archives of the R.W. Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania (1915); introduction by Arturo de Hoyos, 33°, Grand Cross and Josef Wages, 32°
The primary sources in this work represent some of the oldest examples of documents relative to the early history of the Rite. They provide insight on Order of the Royal Secret in Saint Domingue in the 1760s, its establishment in Philadelphia (the capital after the American Revolution in 1781) and its transition to the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, from 1781-1801. We are also presented with 19th century counter perspectives concerning Cerneauism (a type of irregular Masonry) which had formerly thrived in Pennsylvania.
